MUSIC APPRECIATION EXTRAVAGANZA

Lakewood Ranch Music’s Music Appreciation class exposes children grades K-3 to various musical styles, including classical, jazz, popular, Broadway, world music, and rock-n-roll. Storytelling will highlight the composers/songwriters and the worlds they came from; students will learn to distinguish the operatic aria from big band. Video may be used to allow children to see musicians in action! In some programs, there is a field trip to hear a live musical performance. Children will come away understanding that music is a language, able to uplift, heal, challenge the mind, and color the world in different melodies and tones. Class minimum: 6 children – maximum 12 children.
